The Procedure

FUE Hair Restoration
Designed Around You

Our women-specific FUE protocol recognises that female hair loss is fundamentally different — and demands a fundamentally different approach. Every step is calibrated for your unique anatomy, aesthetic goals and lifestyle.

Step by Step

Your Journey to Restored Hair

From first consultation to final result — a clear, supported pathway every step of the way.

01

Comprehensive Assessment

A detailed scalp analysis, hair-density mapping and medical history review. We identify the precise pattern, cause and stage of your loss — and confirm whether FUE is right for you.

02

Bespoke Design

Dr. Zandifar or Dr. Wisiorek hand-draws your personalised hairline and density plan, taking into account facial structure, natural growth angles and your desired outcome.

03

FUE Extraction

Individual follicular units are harvested from the donor zone under local anaesthetic using our micro-punch technique — no linear scar, no full head shave required.

04

Precision Implantation

Grafts are placed at the exact angle, depth and density specified in your design plan. Single-day procedure, immediate natural appearance, permanent growth from 6–12 months.

Our Signature Technique

No-Shave FUE — Designed for Women

The most common concern women have about hair transplantation is the need to shave their head. With our advanced long-hair FUE approach, that is no longer a requirement.

Why Our Method Works Differently for Women

  • No full head shave required. We use a targeted-only-the-donor-strip approach, keeping the surrounding hair long to conceal the extraction zone immediately post-procedure.
  • Customised donor strategy. Women's donor zones differ from men's. Our surgeons map density carefully to ensure healthy, sustainable extraction without compromising overall hair volume.
  • Female hairline architecture. Women's hairlines have a natural oval or M-shaped curve with softer temple corners. Every implantation follows strict feminine aesthetic principles.
  • Minimal social downtime. Return to work within 5–7 days. Most patients can cover the donor zone with their existing hair immediately after the procedure.
  • Angulation expertise. Hair is implanted at the precise natural growth angle — typically 30–45° — ensuring results that are completely indistinguishable from original growth.
  • Graft survival priority. Our ATMP graft-handling protocol keeps follicles in a hypothermic preservation solution from extraction to implantation, maximising survival rate to 97%+.
Check Your Candidacy

Candidacy

Are You a Candidate?

FUE is highly effective for a wide range of female hair loss conditions. A consultation with our surgeons is the only way to confirm suitability — but here are the conditions we most commonly treat.

Androgenetic Alopecia

The most common form of female hair loss — a genetically driven, progressive thinning typically beginning at the central part and crown. FUE can restore density permanently when the donor zone is stable.

Post-Partum Hair Loss

Shedding following pregnancy is common. For women with permanent volume reduction post-partum, FUE can restore density once hormonal levels have fully stabilised (typically 12–18 months post-birth).

Traction Alopecia

Caused by years of tight braiding, weaves or ponytails. When the follicles have been permanently damaged and the traction source is eliminated, FUE can restore the affected zones beautifully.

Alopecia Areata

FUE may be appropriate for women with stable, resolved patches of alopecia areata. Cases with active autoimmune activity require medical management first; our team co-ordinates with dermatology as needed.

Menopausal Hair Thinning

Hormonal changes during and after menopause often cause diffuse thinning. Combined with medical hair management, FUE can significantly improve density in well-selected menopausal patients.

Hairline Lowering

Women seeking to lower a naturally high hairline, correct asymmetry, or restore temple density can achieve elegant, permanent results through precisely designed FUE implantation.

FUE is generally not recommended for women with active, unstable hair loss, certain diffuse unpatterned alopecia (DUPA), or conditions requiring ongoing immunosuppressive therapy. A thorough assessment by our surgeons will determine the most appropriate path for your specific situation.

Recovery & Results

Your Recovery Timeline

We support you at every stage of recovery with detailed aftercare guidance, follow-up consultations and our dedicated patient care team.

Day of Procedure Surgery Day The procedure takes 6–8 hours under local anaesthetic. You are awake, comfortable and able to watch TV or listen to music throughout. A light protective dressing is applied.
Days 1–5 Initial Healing Mild swelling and redness are normal and begin subsiding by day 3. You'll follow our detailed aftercare protocol: gentle saline spray, avoiding direct water pressure, sleeping at an elevated angle.
Days 5–10 Return to Daily Life Most patients return to work and social activities by day 5–7. Existing hair camouflages the donor zone. Small scabs in the recipient area shed naturally over 10–14 days.
Weeks 3–6 Shedding Phase Transplanted hairs enter a temporary shedding phase — this is completely normal and expected. The follicles remain in the scalp and will begin producing new growth within 8–12 weeks.
Months 3–6 New Growth Emerges New hair shafts begin breaking through. By month 6 you will see meaningful density improvement. Hair texture initially fine — this is normal as the follicle re-establishes its growth cycle.
Months 9–12 Full Result Visible The majority of final growth is visible. Hair reaches its full natural calibre, curl and texture. Many patients see continued improvement for up to 18 months post-procedure.

Common Questions

Procedure FAQ

The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so you will feel minimal to no pain during the surgery itself. The initial injection of local anaesthetic may cause a brief stinging sensation, but most patients find this very manageable. Post-procedure discomfort is mild and well-controlled with the medication we prescribe — most patients describe it as a 3/10 on the pain scale.

For most women, no. Our long-hair / no-shave FUE technique trims only a small, discreet strip in the donor area, which is immediately covered by surrounding hair. You can leave the clinic the same day without any visible evidence of the procedure to others. However, for very large sessions (4,000+ grafts), a partial shave of specific zones may be discussed with you in advance — this is always a shared decision.

A typical session takes 6–8 hours depending on the number of grafts. Sessions are generally performed as a single all-day appointment. We provide a comfortable reclining chair, entertainment, meals and constant attention from our clinical team throughout the day.

FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) involves removing a strip of skin from the back of the scalp, leaving a linear scar. FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) extracts individual follicles with a tiny circular punch instrument, leaving only micro-dot marks that heal invisibly. For women — who often prefer to wear their hair at any length — FUE's scar-free outcome is the clearly preferred technique.

Yes. Follicles transplanted from the donor zone carry their original genetic coding, which makes them resistant to the hormonal and pattern-loss mechanisms that caused your hair loss in the first place. Once transplanted and grown in, these hairs behave like your original hair in the donor area — growing, shedding and regrowing in perpetuity. However, any existing non-transplanted hair may continue to thin over time, which is why we often recommend complementary medical management.

Absolutely. We frequently combine FUE with same-day PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy to accelerate healing and improve graft survival. We also offer a structured post-procedure programme including medical-grade topical treatments, low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and nutritional supplementation to optimise and maintain results long-term.

Procedure cost is based on the number of grafts required and varies by patient. Typical women's FUE sessions range from 1,000 to 3,500 grafts. We provide a personalised, all-inclusive quote following your free consultation — covering surgery, anaesthesia, aftercare kit, post-procedure check-ups and 12-month support. We also offer flexible financing options through our clinical partners.
